Behavior Technician - School Based - Suffolk County

Details about this opportunity:

• Location: Suffolk, NY (school based)
• Hours: Hours vary based on school district (Ex: Mon - Fri 8am - 3pm) Daytime hours 25-32 hours per week
• Schedule: Follows the school district calendar, including holidays and breaks
• Compensation : $22-$28/hourly

Responsibilities:

• Work collaboratively with a Behavior Consultant and or Clinical Supervisor to support individual student needs
• Can include implementation of Behavior Intervention Plans or skill acquisition programs (data collection, progress reporting, CPI training and implementation)
• Respond to the goals, needs and requests of students and supervisors, on an individualized basis and in a professional manner
• Goal-oriented and maintain professionalism in all aspects of your work
• Maintain the confidentiality of information regarding students in accordance with State and Federal regulations

And this background:

• Minimum of 6 months working with children or adolescents with special needs in a supervised setting
• Minimum of High School Diploma required
• Must have reliable transportation
• Successful completion of or current enrollment in an undergraduate program in psychology, healthcare, human services, education or related field preferred
• Experience with students with autism and/or maladaptive behaviors preferred
• Critical thinker with a problem-solving mind
• Bilingual is a plus
