Job Title: Registered Nurse Profession: Nursing Specialty: Medical-Surgical/Telemetry Duration: 13 weeks Shift: Night Shift Hours per Shift: 12 hours (7:00 PM - 7:00 AM) Experience: 1 year required; charge experience preferred License: New York license required in hand for submission Certifications: BLS and NIHSS required Must-Have: - Valid NY nursing license - EPIC charting experience Description: Seeking a registered nurse for a Medical-Surgical/Telemetry unit. The position involves providing care for patients post PCI, pacemakers, AICDs, and post MI. The nurse will have responsibilities including cardiac monitoring, emergency response, and interpretation of dysrhythmias. IV therapy and phlebotomy skills are necessary for peripheral line care and management. Nurses will need to manage respiratory support including nasal cannula and oxygen administration. Isolation precautions knowledge is essential. The unit has a patient ratio of 1:5 to 1:7 with a total of 26 beds specializing in MedSurg care. Weekend requirements include working every other weekend. First time travelers are accepted for this position. Candidates must be located more than 75 miles from the facility. Nurses will float to various Med-Surg areas as needed. Experience with different patient populations, including adults and geriatrics, is preferred. Daily census is approximately 38 patients on the unit. Interdisciplinary support includes teams from IV, physical therapy, respiratory services, and pharmacy.
