Basic Job Functions:

The Buyer is responsible for Nucors purchasing of materials, products, and services.

• Process requisitions/purchase orders

• Negotiate and enforce Nucors commercial and legal contract terms and conditions

• Develop and maintain relationships with key vendors/contractors

• Contribute to Nucor enterprise-wide and NRF regional purchasing efforts

• Identify opportunities for cost reduction

• Maintain supplier compliance files

• Coordinate with operating departments on cost savings and improved processes

• Other duties as assigned by supervisor

Minimum Qualifications:

• 3 years Purchasing, Accounting or Supply Chain experience in a manufacturing environment or a Bachelors degree in a Business-related field.

• Demonstrated experience analyzing data, generating reports, and making data-driven decisions.

• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel (pivot tables, VLOOKUP/XLOOKUP, basic data analysis).

Preferred Qualifications:

• Construction or manufacturing industry experience.

• Demonstrated experience with ERP/MRP Systems (Navision, Oracle, SAP, etc.)

• Experience in the following disciplines: business law, contract management, internal controls, inventory management, negotiations, procurement, risk management, accounting, or warehouse.
