Job Opportunity – Level III/IV NICU Registered Nurse – Texas

Start Date: October 19, 2026

Location: Texas

Compensation: Details provided to qualified applicants

Schedule: 13-week contract (longer contracts available upon request); self-scheduling with 6 weekend shifts per 6-week period; no on-call required; 12-hour orientation

Highlights:

• Level IV NICU in a 181-bed Children's Hospital and Level II Pediatric Trauma Center
• Patient ratios of 1:2-4 depending on acuity and assignment
• Epic charting system with comprehensive orientation and training modules
• Daily census of approximately 35 patients across 43-bed unit
• Float opportunities to Pediatrics, PICU, and Pediatric ED for cross-training
• Free parking and bike rack facilities available

Requirements:

• Active Compact RN license (must be in hand at time of submission)
• Minimum 2 years of NICU experience required
• Level III NICU experience strongly preferred for Level IV unit placement
• Current BLS and NRP certifications required
• Experience with Epic EMR system required
• Proficiency with advanced NICU skills including high frequency ventilation, therapeutic hypothermia, UAC/UVC management, nitric oxide administration, developmental care, and central line management
• Must commit to working 3 of 5 major winter holidays (Thanksgiving, Christmas Eve, Christmas Day, New Year's Eve, New Year's Day)
• Two professional references covering 1 year within the last 3 years
