Field Service Technician

1. Travel to customer sites as requested by Field Service Manager. 2. Carry out work as described in the Service Request and ensure job completion. 3. Identify issues on site & propose corrective actions. 4. Prepare & submit field service reports before leaving customer sites. 5. Support Quality Assurance by providing information about the product on site, as requested. 6. Trouble shooting electrical systems as required. 7. Upload/download VFD/PLC/HMI programs. 8. follow up with the customers allocated to them to pursue the open aftermarket parts and services sales opportunities. 9. Contact customers to educate them on the Service Bulletins and TSI’s, and to trigger Opportunities. 10. Organized and able to execute accurate and timely follow-ups from site visits. 11. Follow ups on Open Cases – working with Plattsburgh Technical Services Team, and trigger Opportunities. 12. Hold remote online blower refresher training sessions (chargeable to customers). 14. Producing field service lessons learned to share them with other technicians allowing for increasing efficiency when dealing with the same technical situation. KNOWLEDGE AND EXPERIENCE: 1. The ideal candidate will have strong computer skills and be proficient in Microsoft Office software and either a 2-year Associate degree in electrical or industrial technology or a minimum of 2 years’ experience working with electrical and industrial controls. 2. Previous Travel, Field Service, Customer Support and Sales experience is desired. 3. The candidate must have strong problem solving and troubleshooting capabilities, ability to use inspection tools and strong oral and written communication skills, as well as strong interpersonal skills. Be able to work within all departments in a professional manner supporting other staff as needed. PLC & VFD experience is preferred. 4. Dedicated to achieving project schedules and milestones and the ability to work in a team environment with aggressive deadlines and multiple priorities while staying a team player. 5. The candidate must have a strong attention to detail and be able to adapt to man different functions or activities based on the company needs. 6. Be able to work with minimal supervision, self-motivated, detail-oriented professional with strong organizational skills. 7. The candidate must have the ability to contact customers over the phone. 8. Ability to read and understand blueprints and specifications. 9. Work in a safe and conscious effort to comply with safety policies and good manufacturing processes. 10. Available to travel the US and internationally for unit start up and service. 11. Will have or be able to apply for and obtain a passport. WORKING CONDITIONS: Work is normally performed in a field installation environment with typical shop/field hazards. Prescribed personal protective equipment will be required to include eye protection, safety shoes and hearing protection in designated areas. Outside work in a wide range of weather conditions is typical.
