Labor and Delivery Registered Nurse (RN)

Location: California

Assignment Duration: This is a 13-week contract position.

Schedule: Night Shift: 3x12-Hour (18:00 - 06:30)

Job Description: Seeking a Labor and Delivery Registered Nurse (RN) with a minimum of 1 year of experience, including postpartum care. This position requires adherence to Baby-Friendly protocols and the ability to assist with high-risk deliveries. The RN will support both laboring mothers and newborns in a culturally diverse environment while ensuring safety and optimal patient care.

Responsibilities:

• Provide comprehensive care for labor and delivery patients and their newborns.
• Assist in cesarean sections and other procedures as necessary.
• Administer medications and manage IVs, blood products, and other therapies.
• Conduct thorough assessments and document patient progress utilizing Epic.
• Educate patients and families on discharge instructions and postpartum care.
• Float to other departments as required by staffing needs.

Required Experience / Certifications / Licensure:

• Active RN license in California.
• ACLS, AWHONN Intermediate, and BLS certifications.
• Experience in Labor and Delivery, postpartum care preferred.
• Proficient in the use of Epic or similar electronic health record systems.
• A minimum of 1 year of nursing experience required.
