Advanced Radiology Services is one of the largest physician-owned radiology practices in the country. Our growing practice includes 190 radiologists, 38 advanced practice providers, and 180 employees providing administrative support in our wholly owned subsidiary STARS. ARS provides radiology services to more than 60 different sites across the state of Michigan. We will be the exclusive provider to MyMichigan Health this fall. This nonprofit health system is headquartered in Midland with 8 medical centers providing care to a 25 county region. MyMichigan provides a full continuum of care across a wide array of settings, including urgent care centers, home health, virtual care, and medical offices in more than 30 specialties and subspecialties including cardiology, family medicine, hematology/oncology, neurosciences, orthopedics, pediatrics, vascular surgery, and more.

We are currently accepting applicants for an Alpena based general radiologist. The Alpena site is 139 bed medical center which provides Level III trauma care. This position may have occasional travel to other ARS sites of operation. A standard track position offers 13 weeks of vacation. We could also hire for a weekday daytime only role (no evenings, weekends, or holidays) which offers 8 weeks of vacation.

Responsibilities:

• Interpret studies from all modalities, including mammography
• Perform minor percutaneous interventions such as drainages and biopsies
• Perform image-guided breast procedures, including stereotactic and ultrasound-guided biopsies and localizations
• Ability to perform breast diagnostics a plus but not required

ARS is a 100% physician owned and managed practice. We are committed to remaining independent. We are looking for entrepreneurial minded physicians who value involvement in decision making and developing our business strategy. Participation in section, committee and board meetings is not required but welcomed from day one. While we are an independent private practice, some of our physicians practice with an academic focus. In affiliation with Michigan State University College of Medicine, our radiologists have opportunities to teach and mentor residents and pursue research if desired. Due to the size and breadth of the healthcare systems we support, diagnostic volume and variety of clinical exposure is unrivaled.

Compensation/Benefits: We offer a 100K recruitment incentive (sign on bonus), competitive compensation plan, stipends for on-site shifts, and opportunities for additional shifts on a month to month basis. Our physicians pay $0 for single or family medical/dental/vision coverage and enjoy an $18,000 medical reimbursement account annually. We also contribute the maximum amount allowed to the 401K plan ($70,000 in 2025). We offer 13 weeks of vacation for our standard track positions and we have a brand new 6-week paid parental leave benefit!

In addition to swimming, hiking, boating and fishing, attractions include the Great Lakes Maritime Heritage Center and the only freshwater National Marine Sanctuary and Underwater Preserve in the world.

Requirements:

• American Board of Radiology or AOBR certified or Board-Eligible
• Fellowship training preferred but will consider significant practice experience
• Must be comfortable working autonomously in more rural sites
