Title: Building Operator Department Org: HVAC-Campus Env & Phy Plnt -108360 Employee Classification: B1 - Classif'd Full Time AFSCMEHSC Bargaining Unit: AFSCME HSC Primary Location: HSC H Shift: 1 Start Time: 7:00am End Time: 3:30pm Posted Salary: 23.15 Float: False Rotate: False On Call: False Travel: False Weekend/Holiday: True Job Description: Under general supervision of appropriate Manager, the BuildingOperator performs skilled HVAC/R, plumbing, electrical, steam system maintenance & operation, andgeneral housekeeping/maintenance of the assigned buildings orsystems. Performs preventative maintenance on all building systemsand components. The primary function of the position is to perform,repair, upgrade, schedule and organize the upkeep of the assignedbuildings, grounds, facilities, rooms, storage areas, and all ofits equipment, services, and vehicles. The Building Operator willensure the maintenance, safety, cleanliness, and organization ofthe building, its property, vehicles, and its contents. Minimum Qualifications: Requires 3-5 years in one (or a combination) of the followingfields: HVAC/R, electrical, plumbing and/or generalmaintenance. Maintains a valid driver's license and must be insurable underthe University of Toledo's driving policies Knowledge of general maintenance and general repairpractices Ability to use math, read and write common vocabulary, readblueprints, understand manuals, and verbal instructions (technicalin nature) Ability to walk, climb, bend, twist, kneel and lift up to50lbs.
