Mortgage Loan Officer

Drives the Banks financial performance by originating high quality residential mortgage loans while delivering a high-touch, relationship-driven client experience. Responsible for managing the full mortgage lifecycle from initial consultation through closing, while building strong client relationships and maintaining a consistent pipeline. This role supports the Banks growth by expanding lending opportunities, enhancing community presence, and ensuring a seamless and compliant customer experience. Responsibilities Develop and execute business development strategies to generate residential mortgage opportunities through community outreach, networking, and referral partnershipsMaintain an active presence within assigned markets to build relationships and generate lending opportunitiesTravel regularly for business development, networking, and community engagement activitiesBuild, manage, and maintain a strong pipeline of mortgage applications to meet production and service level expectationsServe as the primary point of contact for clients, delivering a high-touch, responsive experience throughout the lending lifecycleInterview applicants to assess financial needs and recommend appropriate mortgage solutionsCollect, review, and validate documentation required for loan applications and underwriting reviewPre-screen applicants by reviewing credit, financial information, and collateral to assess preliminary eligibilityPartner with Mortgage Operations and underwriting teams to support timely processing and closing of loan filesMaintain proactive communication with clients to ensure completeness of files and manage expectationsReview and explain loan disclosures to ensure client understanding and complianceCollaborate with Retail, Business Banking, and other internal teams to identify cross-sell opportunitiesParticipate in community and business development activities to enhance the Banks visibility and reputationUtilize systems such as Encompass LOS, CRM platforms, and pipeline tracking tools to manage workflowMonitor pipeline performance to ensure timely follow-up and adherence to service standardsStay current on regulatory requirements, market trends, and competitive productsEnsure compliance with all lending regulations, internal policies, and quality standards Requirements Associates degree or equivalent experience required, preferably in Business, Finance, or a related fieldMinimum of two (2) years of residential mortgage lending or related experienceStrong communication and interpersonal skills with a customer-focused approachStrong analytical and financial assessment skillsKnowledge of mortgage products, lending regulations, and documentation requirementsAbility to manage multiple priorities and maintain a consistent pipelineProficiency in Microsoft Office and loan origination systems Licensing Requirements Must be registered with the Nationwide Mortgage Licensing System and Registry (NMLS) in accordance with the SAFE ActAbility to obtain and maintain all required state licensing and continuing education requirements About Ponce Bank At Ponce Bank, we are deeply committed to growth, innovation, and community impact.
