The opportunity

Nova is a general contractor specializing in hotel renovations across the United States. We seek an experienced estimating leader to own bid strategy and personally develop accurate, competitive proposals. Estimating is the primary responsibility, with hands-on project management support as needed.

\n

Strong preference for candidates with substantial tenure at an established hotel renovation contractor and a proven record of preparing competitive, profitable bids for major hotel brands nationwide.

Responsibilities

\n

\n

• Lead estimating and bid strategy; review drawings, specifications, site conditions, and complete scopes of work.

\n

• Prepare quantity takeoffs and detailed estimates for labor, materials, equipment, subcontractors, and general conditions.

\n

• Solicit and level subcontractor bids; identify scope gaps, exclusions, risks, and value-engineering opportunities.

\n

• Develop client proposals, budgets, and preliminary schedules; coordinate pricing and lead times with procurement.

\n

• Support awarded projects with buyout, cost tracking, RFIs, submittals, change orders, and closeout as needed.

\n

• Travel nationwide as needed for job walkthroughs, pre-bid site visits, ownership meetings, and project management support.

\n

Qualifications

\n

\n

• Strong commercial construction estimating experience, with hotel renovation contractor experience highly preferred.

\n

• Direct experience estimating branded hotel renovations, occupied-hotel phasing, interior finishes, and subcontractor scopes.

\n

• Ability to manage multiple bids, communicate clearly, and produce thorough, accurate proposals. • Proficiency with Excel and takeoff/estimating software such as Bluebeam, PlanSwift, or comparable tools. • Ability to work independently from anywhere in the U.S.; no relocation required.

Base salary based on experience and qualifications. Performance-based bonus opportunities tied to projects you estimate and Nova is awarded, with project profitability considered.
