Payroll and Benefits Specialist

The Opportunity The Human Resources Payroll & Benefits Specialist plays a central role in ensuring employees are paid accurately and on time, while also managing the company’s benefits programs with precision and care. This position blends technical payroll expertise with a people‑first HR mindset, supporting employees throughout the full lifecycle of compensation and benefits. What you’ll do Payroll Administration Process biweekly payrolls for all employees with accuracy and confidentiality. Ensure 401(k) files for bi‑weekly payroll are accurately sent to administrator. Maintain payroll records, including new hires, terminations, promotions, leaves of absence and pay changes. Audit timekeeping data and resolve discrepancies with managers and employees. Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local wage and hour laws. Prepare payroll reports for Leaders as needed. Manage year‑end payroll tasks, including W‑2 distribution and tax filings. Benefits Administration Administer employee benefits programs, including health, dental, vision, life insurance, disability, and retirement plans. Coordinate open enrollment, benefits changes, and employee education sessions. Serve as the primary point of contact for employees regarding benefits questions and issue resolution. Maintain accurate benefits records and ensure timely enrollment and termination processing in the HRIS Benefit Platform. Work with vendors and brokers to manage plan updates, billing, and compliance. Human Resources Support and Compliance Assist with 401(k) and SOC audits annually. Coordinate interviews and background checks for applicants and new hires. Qualifications 3–5 years of payroll and/or benefits administration experience. Strong knowledge of payroll regulations and benefits compliance. Experience with HRIS and payroll systems, preferably with Paycom Payroll System. High attention to detail and strong organizational skills. Excellent communication and customer service skills. Ability to handle confidential information with discretion. Preferred Associate or bachelor’s degree in human resources, business, or related field. Experience in a multi‑state payroll environment. Additional Opportunity Details: Target Base Compensation Range for this role is $75,000–$85,000 Factors that may be used to determine your actual salary include your job‑specific skills, education, training, job location, number of years of experience related to this role and comparison to other employees already in this role.
