CNC Technician

CNC TechnicianReporting to the Production Supervisor, the CNC Technician will set up and operate CNC machines or machining centers to perform various machine functions such as cutting, drilling, milling, reaming, boring, and broaching of metallic and nonmetallic workpieces. This role ensures CNC equipment operates efficiently, safely, and within quality standards, while providing technical expertise to operators and leadership.ResponsibilitiesVerifies that fixture setup meets acceptable quality standards regarding milling and boring sizes, depths, angles, or other specificationsMounts, aligns, and secures tooling, attachments, and workpieces on machines.Assembles cutting tools in toolholders and positions toolholders in machine magazines.Conducts prove-outs and selects correct programming during setups and changeover as needed.Starts machine and monitors displays and machine operation to detect malfunctions.Stops machine to change cutting tools and setup according to required machining sequence or to measure parts to conformance to blueprint specificationsDiscuss errors with supervisors or programming personnel to resolve problemsPerforms machine maintenance.Ability to lead one or more operators in machining cell on two or more product lines.Other duties as assigned.Academic/Educational RequirementsHigh school diploma or equivalent.Technical degree or certification in machining or CNC programming preferred.Required Skills/ExperienceProven experience as a CNC Programmer/Operator or similar roleProficiency in CNC programming languages (e.g., G-code, M-code) and nesting softwareAbility to operate forklift and overhead crane (training will be provided)Ability to interpret drawings to generate programs that provide the part dimensions desired.Basic knowledge of hydraulic, lubrication and mechanical equipment.Proficient understanding of CMM reports, gage readings, and able to use CMM reports and gages.Ability to interpret drawings to generate programs that provide the part dimensions desired.Three years of experience in a CNC Environment.What Linamar Has to OfferCompetitive CompensationEmployee Benefits package includes but not limited to, Drug, Dental & Vision etc.Opportunities for career advancement.Sustainability CouncilCommunity based outreach supporting both local and global initiatives and charities.Discounts for local vendors and events, including auto supplier discounts.Linamar Corporation is a Canadian-founded global manufacturer, renowned for its advanced engineering and innovative product development across diverse industries and markets.
