Payroll Clerk Our client is a large, multi-location organization seeking a Payroll Clerk to join its centralized accounting team. This position is responsible for supporting payroll operations for a sizable employee population across multiple locations. The ideal candidate will be detail-oriented, organized, and capable of managing payroll data in a fast-paced environment while ensuring accuracy and compliance with company policies. This position is temp to hire and will pay between $23 and $28/hr. Job Responsibilities Process weekly and biweekly payroll for employees across multiple locations. Review and verify employee time records, attendance data, and payroll adjustments. Enter and maintain payroll information, including new hires, terminations, pay rate changes, and deductions. Ensure payroll calculations are accurate for wages, overtime, bonuses, commissions, and other earnings. Assist with payroll tax reporting and compliance requirements. Process garnishments, benefit deductions, and other payroll-related withholdings. Investigate and resolve payroll discrepancies and employee payroll inquiries. Maintain payroll records and supporting documentation in accordance with company policies. Reconcile payroll-related accounts and assist with month-end closing activities. Prepare payroll reports for management and accounting teams. Support year-end payroll activities, including tax form preparation and reconciliation. Collaborate with Human Resources and Accounting to ensure employee information is accurate and up to date. Qualifications Associate degree in Accounting, Finance, Business, or a related field preferred but not required. 2+ years of payroll processing experience. Experience handling payroll for a high-volume workforce. Strong understanding of payroll regulations, tax withholdings, and wage laws. Proficiency with payroll software and Microsoft Excel. Excellent attention to detail and accuracy. Strong organizational, analytical, and problem-solving skills. Ability to manage confidential information with discretion. Effective communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively across departments.
