Job Summary
SeaHarbor Insurance is a growing non‑standard auto carrier committed to high‑quality claim outcomes and a strong, collaborative culture. We are seeking an experienced Director of Bodily Injury & Litigation to lead our auto injury and litigation operations and develop a high‑performing team.
What You’ll Do
- Lead and develop the Bodily Injury and Litigation teams, fostering technical excellence and a supportive, in‑person work environment.
- Oversee injury and litigated claim operations, ensuring timely contact, accurate reserving, clear documentation, and defensible outcomes.
- Participate in audits, guide settlement authority decisions, and support complex or escalated exposures.
- Ensure adjusters effectively manage defense counsel and that litigation strategies align with SeaHarbor expectations.
- Drive operational consistency by monitoring communication standards, cycle times, closing ratios, and file quality.
- Ensure adherence to regulatory requirements and internal Best Practices.
- Support continuous improvement, staff coaching, and operational discipline across the department.
- Oversee appropriate use of outside resources such as defense counsel, legal billing partners, investigators, or other vendors as needed.
What You Bring
- Bachelor’s degree. Master’s degree or Juris Doctor preferred.
- Progressive experience handling and managing auto bodily injury and litigated claims.
- Leadership experience required with a demonstrated ability to develop staff and drive results.
- Non‑standard auto experience strongly preferred.
- Technical expertise in injury evaluation, liability analysis, negotiation, and litigation oversight.
- Excellent communication, documentation, and decision‑making skills.
- Ability to work primarily onsite and contribute to a collaborative team environment.
- Professional designations such as CPCU, AIC, or SCLA preferred.
- Active Texas Adjuster License preferred (or ability to obtain shortly after hire).
