We are looking for an experienced Procurement Consultant to support a construction-focused organization in San Antonio, Texas. This Long-term Contract position will partner closely with estimating and executive leadership to improve procurement visibility, strengthen cost analysis, and bring greater consistency to purchasing data and processes. The consultant will assess current workflows, identify operational gaps, and help build a more effective structure for vendor evaluation, project cost tracking, and future team transition planning.

Responsibilities:
• Review and unify procurement information spread across multiple project spreadsheets to create a more reliable and manageable reporting approach.
• Analyze existing purchasing and sourcing workflows to uncover inefficiencies, control weaknesses, and opportunities for improvement.
• Develop a practical action plan that addresses process gaps, strengthens procurement operations, and supports better decision-making.
• Create clearer methods for vendor comparison, including pricing analysis and product cost evaluation across projects.
• Organize and improve master data records so procurement information is more accurate, consistent, and easier to use.
• Work directly with the Head of the Estimation team and the President to support project cost tracking and provide procurement insight at the leadership level.
• Provide guidance on purchase order and buying practices to help standardize procurement activities across the organization.
• Support knowledge transfer and training for a future team member once revised processes and expectations are in place.
• Contribute to system and process assessments related to current procurement tools where needed as part of broader operational improvements.• Proven experience in corporate procurement, preferably within construction, contractor, or project-based environments.
• Strong background in purchase orders, buying processes, and day-to-day procurement operations.
• Demonstrated ability to evaluate procurement functions, identify gaps, and implement process improvements.
• Experience with vendor analysis, pricing comparisons, and contract negotiation support.
• Advanced spreadsheet and data consolidation skills, with the ability to manage information across multiple projects.
• Comfortable working with senior leadership and presenting recommendations with professionalism and executive presence.
• Capable of developing structured action plans and supporting transition or training efforts for internal team members.
