The People Services Specialist serves as a human resources generalist responsible for supporting the full employee lifecycle through recruitment, onboarding, employee relations, performance management, compliance, reporting, payroll and benefits support, and employee engagement initiatives. Essential Functions & Responsibilities Maintain confidentiality and exercise sound judgment in handling sensitive and proprietary information. Serve as the primary point of contact for employees and leaders on a wide range of human resources matters, providing timely guidance, support, and resolution. Manage the full-cycle recruitment process, including sourcing, interviewing, selection, pre-employment activities, offers, and onboarding to attract and retain exceptional talent. Coordinate and facilitate new employee orientation and onboarding activities that create positive employee experience and support successful integration into the organization. Partner with leaders to support employee performance management processes, including goal setting, coaching, performance improvement, documentation, and annual performance reviews. Provide guidance on employee relations matters by assisting leaders and employees with conflict resolution, policy interpretation, and performance discussions while maintaining confidentiality. Identify opportunities to improve People Services processes, workflows, and employee experiences by recommending and implementing practical solutions that increase efficiency, accuracy, and service quality. Maintain accurate employee records, human resources information systems (HRIS), personnel files, and employment documentation in accordance with legal and organizational requirements. Maintain the integrity of HRIS data by processing employee transactions, auditing records for accuracy, and supporting system enhancements, testing, and reporting as needed. Prepare and analyze workforce reports, metrics, and administrative reporting related to recruitment, turnover, headcount, vacancies, employee demographics, compliance, and other human resources initiatives. Coordinate employee recognition, engagement, wellness, and culture initiatives that enhance employee experience and support organizational values. Assist with benefits administration, employee questions, annual open enrollment activities, and vendor coordination. Provide backup support for payroll processing and benefits administration to ensure continuity of operations. Partner with Payroll to ensure accurate processing of new hires, status changes, leave activity, and terminations while resolving employee payroll-related inquiries. Assist with policy development, handbook updates, and communication of human resources programs, policies, and procedures. Support talent development initiatives, including training coordination, leadership development programs, and career development opportunities. Participate in organizational projects and continuous improvement initiatives that enhance people processes, operational efficiency, and employee experience. Ensure compliance with all federal, state, and local employment laws and regulations, as well as organizational policies and procedures. Performs other duties as assigned. Education And Experience Bachelor’s degree from a four-year (4) college or university preferred. Minimum of three (3) years of progressive human resources generalist experience, including recruitment, employee relations, leave administration, and performance management, ideally in financial services. An equivalent combination of education, professional certifications, and relevant experience will be considered. Experience supporting payroll and benefits administration preferred. Strong knowledge of federal and state employment laws and regulations, including EEO, FLSA, FMLA, ADA, COBRA, OSHA, and other applicable employment requirements. Experience working with Human Resources Information Systems (HRIS), applicant tracking systems, payroll systems, and Microsoft Office applications. Professional certifications such as SHRM-CP, SHRM-SCP, PHR, or SPHR are preferred. WORKING ENVIRONMENT STANDARDS & EXPECTATIONS

Work is primarily performed in an office environment using standard business equipment, with workspaces that are typically climate controlled. This role may require occasional lifting or moving of items up to 15 pounds. The position involves a combination of sitting, standing, walking, and frequent use of hands for tasks such as typing and operating office equipment. Unobstructed vision and hearing are essential to effectively perform job functions. This role requires strong cognitive and interpersonal abilities, including attention to detail, sound judgment, problem-solving, effective communication, and the ability to analyze information and manage multiple priorities.
