Senior Staff Accountant

We are currently looking for a Senior Staff Accountant to join our team and support the U.S. financial reporting process. This role is ideal for an experienced accounting professional who brings strong technical expertise, ownership, and a process improvement mindset.

The Senior Staff Accountant will support all aspects of the U.S. financial reporting process and is expected to have a solid understanding of internal control design concepts. This role requires a strong sense of ownership, the ability to identify process efficiencies, and the confidence to drive positive change within the accounting function. The position will focus on intercompany accounting, balance sheet reconciliations, and complex account analysis using SAP S/4HANA. The ideal candidate will bring strong experience in these areas and play a key role in ensuring the accuracy, integrity, and completeness of financial data.

Key Responsibilities

• Support all aspects of the U.S. financial reporting process.
• Ensure tax- and duty-related balance sheet accounts are accurately recorded, reconciled, and fully supported each period.
• Investigate variances, clear aged items, validate accruals, and partner with cross-functional teams to maintain the integrity and cleanliness of related accounts.
• Perform detailed balance sheet reconciliations and resolve discrepancies in a timely manner.
• Conduct complex account analysis to ensure accuracy and compliance with company policies and applicable accounting standards.
• Utilize SAP S/4HANA for financial reporting, account analysis, and process improvement initiatives.
• Assist with the preparation of monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements.
• Ensure compliance with internal controls and support internal and external audits.
• Identify and implement process improvements to enhance efficiency and effectiveness across the accounting function.
• Collaborate closely with teams across finance, operations, and IT to support business objectives and ensure accurate reporting.
• Apply strong technical accounting knowledge to complex transactions while ensuring compliance with GAAP, IFRS, or other applicable standards.
• Contribute to a high-performing team environment through mentoring, coaching, and continuous feedback.

Qualifications / Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance.
• Minimum 5 years of experience in operational accounting, or 2+ years of Big Four / enterprise-level experience.
• Strong experience with balance sheet reconciliations, account analysis, and month-end close.
• Experience working with a large-scale ERP system, preferably SAP.
• Understanding of internal controls, audit support, and financial reporting processes.
• Strong analytical skills, attention to detail, and the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment.
• Strong communication skills and the ability to collaborate across teams.

Preferred

• CPA or equivalent certification.
• Public accounting experience.
• Experience with intercompany accounting.
• Familiarity with IFRS.
• Advanced Excel skills.
