A Chicago-based company (travel not required, but the rep can travel as necessary)

Industry: Lighting/electrical distributor

Compensation: OTE $150K–$220K+ (with a $120K–$140K base).

• First year guaranteed base, second year, lower base and higher commission.
• Commission payout: monthly to quarterly
• Year 1 annual target: $2M-$3M in sales

National Accounts Sales Representative

A design-focused division of our confidential client is hiring a National Accounts Sales Representative to grow and manage relationships with trade accounts outside the local showroom market, including design firms, architects, developers, and multi-family and commercial builders.

This is a B2B sales role focused on the full account lifecycle: prospecting, quoting, negotiating, closing, and ongoing account management for large-scale and repeat projects.

Key Responsibilities

• Prospect and build relationships with national design firms, developers, and multi-family/commercial builders.
• Manage inbound sales leads from digital platforms.
• Own the full sales cycle for B2B accounts: prospecting, lead generation, quoting, negotiation, closing, and retention.
• Build a strong architecture-and-design focused book of business that promotes ongoing projects.
• Maintain an accurate account pipeline and sales forecast in the CRM.
• Meet or exceed sales targets.
• Stay current on product knowledge across lighting, fan, furniture, and related design brands.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of B2B or national accounts sales experience, ideally in lighting, home furnishings, design, building products, or a related project-based category.
• Proven track record managing large accounts and complex, multi-stakeholder sales cycles.
• Strong relationship-building, negotiation, and communication skills.
• Comfort working in a CRM and managing quoting/order systems.
