Key Position Details 1.0 FTE (80 hours per two‑week pay period) Day shift, 10‑hour day shifts, four shifts per week, floating day off No weekends May work between two clinic sites (one block apart) May be assigned to float amongst clinical teams within the clinic Job Description Nursing is the diagnosis and treatment of human response to actual or potential health problems. This includes establishing an intentional therapeutic relationship between a registered nurse and a patient and family. As a leader and integrator of care, the professional nurse has the responsibility, authority, and accountability for planning, coordinating and evaluating the patient’s care needs. Focuses on patients receiving care in an outpatient setting, playing a critical role in coordination and delegation of care. Responsibilities Assessment – Collects, prioritizes and synthesizes comprehensive data pertinent to the patient’s health or situation. Uses evidence‑based assessment techniques and instruments. Diagnosis – Analyzes assessment data to determine nursing diagnoses, documents diagnoses in compliance with patient care guidelines. Outcomes Identification – Identifies expected outcomes individualized to the patient and establishes realistic and measurable goals in collaboration with the family. Planning – Develops individual plans that prescribe interventions to attain expected outcomes, incorporates evidence‑based practice, and ensures continuity of care. Implementation – Implements the identified plan safely and timely, coordinates interventions, and documents activities per guidelines. Evaluation – Evaluates patient progress toward outcomes, revises diagnoses and plans based on ongoing assessment, and involves the patient, family, and team in the evaluation process. Quality of Practice – Participates in quality improvement activities related to nursing practice and uses QI data to improve outcomes. Education – Attains knowledge and competency reflective of current nursing practice and applies learning to practice. Professional Practice Evaluation – Engages in self‑evaluation, identifies strengths and development goals, and seeks peer feedback. Collegiality – Contributes to professional development of peers, provides constructive feedback, and supports a healthy work environment. Collaboration – Partners with patients, families, and other professionals to effect change and generate positive outcomes. Ethics – Acts in an ethical manner, maintains boundaries, advocates for patients, and uses resources to formulate ethical decisions. Research – Integrates research findings into practice and uses evidence to guide decisions. Resource Utilization – Plans and delivers patient care with safety, effectiveness, cost, and impact considered. Leadership – Provides leadership as a professional role model, promotes a positive work environment, and participates in shared decision‑making. Environmental Health – Practices safely, reduces environmental hazards, and promotes wellness for workers and consumers. Charge Nurse (when acting in this role) – Coordinates and directs unit operations efficiently. Preceptor (when acting in this role) – Identifies learning needs, implements orientation plans, and facilitates professional growth. Other duties as assigned. Qualifications Associate’s or Vocational degree graduate of an accredited school of nursing; new graduate RN may have 0‑2 years experience. Bachelor’s degree graduate of an accredited school of nursing is preferred. Licensed Registered Nurse – MN Board of Nursing required if working in MN and – WI Dept of Safety & Professional Services required if in WI. BLS Tier 1 – Basic Life Support required per American Heart Association guidelines within 30 days. RN‑BC Ambulatory Care preferred. Physical Demands Medium. May lift up to 32 lbs. occasionally and up to 25 lbs. frequently (Allina Safe Patient Moving Policy). Pay Range $40.08 to $54.93 per hour. Pay reflects base hiring range; final rate depends on experience, education, and applicable agreements.
