The mainmissionof the City Rescue Mission of Lansing, since its founding, has remainedto teach the Word of God as found in the Christian Bible (Romans 10:13-15),edify and equip the saints to be committed followers of Jesus Christ and His teachings (Ephesians 4:11-13), and present an authentic representation of traditional, Biblical Christianity (Philippians 1:9-11). For this reason, employees will be guided by the Doctrinal Statementestablishedby theBoard ofDirectors.

Reports To:TheCustomer Service Coordinatorwill report totheCustomer Service Manager and theUpliftThrift Manager.
Job Overview:This role is vital in the runningofthe Uplift Thrift.TheCustomer Service Coordinatorprocesses transactions onthe registers, oversees theentry, andcleans, organizes, and re-stocksassigned sections of the sales floor. Welcoming each customer, helping as needed, and ensuring a pleasant andaccuratecheck-out and payment experience.TheCustomer Service Coordinatormust also be able to complete tasks independently and accurately while staying calm under pressure.The Customer Service Coordinator must be able to multitask well andmaintaina clean and orderly work environment.
Expected Schedule-Combination of1stand2ndPart Time-Exact schedulevaries Shifts are 10am-3pm and 3pm-8pm. Weekends and Holidays asscheduled(Rotation).5-hourshifts.
Responsibilities and Duties:
- Greet Customers as theyenter and exit the store
- Accurately account for cashdrawerthroughout shift. Counting in and out at the start/end of each shift.
- Complete transactions with customers on the cash register- offering punctual, friendly service
- Ensureaccuratetransactions on the cash register- both credit card and cash.
- Maintain assigned areas for the sales floor- ensuring it is stocked, clean, properly priced,etc
- Stay within sight of thecash register, ensuring no customers are left waiting at the registers
- Maintaingood communicationwith thedepartment,utilizingall available tools
- Maintain a clean and orderly workspace
- Attend all meetings and training sessions as scheduled
- Show the love of Christandbe ready to share the gospel
Qualifications:
- High School Diploma-Preferred
- 1 Year Retail Experience- Preferred
- Basic Microsoft Suite Experience-e.g.Email, Word Documents-Required
Skills
- Strong grasp of mathematics, able to catch and correct errors when making change andprocessingtransactions
- Dynamic people skills, able to interact with and put at ease people from allwalks of life
- Ability to learn and independently use new software within15 daysof introduction.
- Ability toanswer, transfer, and hold calls on a phone system that spans multiplefacilitieswithin15 daysofintroduction.
- Ability to respectfully interact withcustomers,City Rescue Missionguests, andvolunteers no matter their background,temperament, preferences, or life choices
- Detail oriented, organized, thorough, andpossessingthe ability to multitask well
- Ability to constantly assess the accuracy, neatness, and thoroughness of all work assignments
- Ability to de-escalate situations while staying calm under pressure

- Be ready at all timesto give an answer of the Hope that lies within the committed follower of Christ, as outlined in the Christian Bible, with gentleness and respect (1 Peter 3:15).
- Live everyday life in submission to the authority of the Christian Bible (2 Timothy 3:15-17).
- Commit to continual training under those called to teach the doctrines of the faith and the Word of God, as well as to seek out fellowship with other believers (Hebrews 10:24-25), asevidencedby being a member in good standing in a local evangelical church.
Environment
TheCustomer Service Coordinatorwill need to be able toworkconstantlyin a noisy anddistraction- filledenvironment.TheCustomer Service Coordinatorstask will occasionally require them to work in low temperatures,high temperatures, outdoor elements (e.g.rain, wind, snow),and small/enclosed spaces.
Physical Requirements-
Thebelow listed abilitiesare required to be able to complete the essential duties of the role:
TheCustomerService Coordinatorwillneed tobe able toconstantlylift25lbs in all directionsand will occasionally need toliftupto50lbs in all directions.They will need to be able to complete1-2 hoursof physically taxing work without a break and stand or walkfor3hourswithout sitting down.They will occasionally need to complete3hours of physically taxing work withoutabreakand be able tomove with hastefor 500ft.
TheCustomerService Coordinatorwill need to be able to constantly complete visual scans of indoor/outdoor areas in varying levels of light. They will need toconstantlycomplete tasks with repetitive motions that include thewrists,handsand/or fingers. They will need to be able to constantly communicate clearly with others to exchange information.
