Description

American Traveler is seeking a Cardiovascular OR Surgical Technologist for a hospital setting requiring NBSTSA or NCCT certification and 2+ years of CVOR experience.

Details

• Hospital setting with 23 operating rooms and 1 procedure room
• CVOR unit supporting elective and emergency surgeries for adult and pediatric patients
• Variety of service-specific specialties including cardiovascular, vascular, thoracic, and general surgery
• Day shift schedule, 3x12-hour shifts from 7:00 AM to 7:00 PM
• On-call requirement of 1 call shift per week and 1 full weekend per month
• Floating required
• EPIC charting experience required

Requirements

• Minimum of 2 years of experience required, with 2-3 years in a busy CVOR preferred for screening
• NBSTSA or NCCT certification required
• BLS certification preferred
• EPIC charting experience required
• Trauma Level I and Level II experience preferred
• Prior travel experience required
• Skilled in procedures such as CABG, TAVR, VAD, AAA repair, carotid endarterectomy, and EVAR
• Experience with robotics including Da Vinci Xi Surgical System preferred
• Proficient in aseptic technique, instrument processing, and sterilization/disinfection
• NY state license required if applicable

Additional Information

• Perform surgical technologist duties supporting cardiovascular, vascular, thoracic, and general surgery cases
• Work within a hybrid OR environment equipped for trauma and emergency cases
• Handle equipment such as cell savers, electrosurgical units, and fiber optic light sources
• Maintain sterile fields and perform instrument and sponge counts
• Participate in universal protocol (time out) procedures
• First-time travelers considered if they have 2-3 years of experience in a busy CVOR
• Local candidates not accepted within 75-mile radius of the facility
• Returning staff must wait 6 months system-wide before reapplying
• Maximum of 10 days RTO permitted for consideration
