Overview
Registered Nurse – Labor & Delivery (L&D) in San Luis Obispo, California. This travel assignment starts on 08/17/2026 and runs for 13 weeks. Guaranteed 36 hours per week on a night shift (3x12-hour shifts, 7:00 PM–7:30 AM). Weekly pay ranges from $2,243 to $2,411. Work in a short-term acute care setting with an active L&D unit, providing care across antepartum, intrapartum, and postpartum periods.

Responsibilities
- Plan and provide nursing care for obstetric patients across antepartum, intrapartum, and postpartum periods, including emergency situations.
- Monitor fetal and maternal status; assess labor progression and fetal well-being; respond to perinatal emergencies (e.g., crash C-section, precipitous delivery, shoulder dystocia).
- Circulate for C-sections, assist with epidural catheter placement, and monitor patients during and after analgesia; manage pain control and offer alternative methods when appropriate.
- Educate patients and families about perinatal processes, postpartum care, and discharge planning.
- Collaborate with the multidisciplinary team; supervise and delegate tasks to ancillary personnel within scope of practice.

Requirements
- Must hold an active RN license in the state of practice
- Education: Associate Degree in Nursing required; Bachelor's Degree in Nursing preferred
- Experience: At least two years of recent Labor & Delivery experience
- Certifications: Current BLS, ACLS, PALS, NRP, and Intermediate Fetal Monitoring required; Fetal Heart Monitoring (FHM) or AWHONN certification preferred
- Additional requirements: Demonstrates competent perinatal assessment and crisis management; ability to function effectively on a night shift and in a fast-paced L&D environment
