Job Description:\n\nDescription:\n The HR Generalist provides day-to-day human resources support to employees and leaders across PDI. This position supports recruiting, onboarding, employee relations, benefits, leave administration, employee records, performance management, and other HR activities while ensuring accurate, timely, and confidential HR services.\nThe HR Generalist serves as an HR resource to employees, supervisors, and managers and works closely with the CHRO to promote a positive employee experience, consistent HR practices, and a workplace where employees feel valued, supported, and empowered to succeed.\nThe position may travel between PDI Main and Fort Carson, as needed to support employees, recruiting, onboarding, meetings, and organizational needs.Requirements:\nESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES\n\nRecruitment & Hiring\n• Coordinate and support the full recruitment and hiring process.\n• Develop and maintain job postings.\n• Review applications and assist with candidate screening.\n• Coordinate interviews with hiring managers and candidates.\n• Communicate with candidates throughout the recruitment process.\n• Conduct or coordinate reference and background checks as applicable.\n• Prepare and coordinate employment-related paperwork.\n• Maintain accurate recruitment records.\n• Support PDI's efforts to attract and retain qualified employees.\n• Recommend recruitment strategies to address hard-to-fill positions.\n• Participate in career fairs, recruitment events, and community outreach as needed.\n\nOnboarding & Employee Experience\n• Coordinate new-hire onboarding activities.\n• Ensure required employment documentation is completed accurately and timely.\n• Coordinate new employee orientation with the Trainer/Training Specialist.\n• Serve as a resource to new employees during the onboarding process.\n• Assist with employee engagement and retention initiatives.\n• Support a positive and welcoming employee experience.\n\nEmployee Relations\n• Serve as a day-to-day HR resource for employees and supervisors.\n• Assist with employee relations matters and escalate complex issues to the CHRO.\n• Document employee relations concerns appropriately.\n• Assist with workplace investigations as directed by the CHRO.\n• Maintain confidentiality when handling sensitive employee matters.\n• Assist managers and supervisors with performance-related concerns.\n• Support consistent application of PDI policies and procedures.\n• Assist with disciplinary documentation and processes as directed by the CHRO.\n• Support employee separation and termination processes.\n\nBenefits & Leave Administration\n• Assist employees with benefit questions and enrollment.\n• Coordinate benefit enrollment and qualifying life-event changes.\n• Provide administrative support for benefit programs.\n• Assist with leave administration and tracking.\n• Maintain appropriate documentation related to employee leave.\n• Coordinate with the CHRO and applicable benefit providers regarding employee benefit matters.\n• Maintain confidentiality of employee benefit and leave information.\n\nHR Records & Administration\n• Maintain accurate and confidential personnel files.\n• Ensure employee records are complete and properly maintained.\n• Enter and update employee information in the HRIS.\n• Process employee status changes, including hires, transfers, promotions, and separations.\n• Maintain required HR documentation.\n• Assist with employment verifications.\n• Prepare routine HR reports.\n• Assist with HR audits and compliance reviews.\n• Maintain confidentiality of employee and organizational information.\n\nPerformance Management\n• Support the performance management process.\n• Coordinate performance review schedules and documentation.\n• Assist supervisors and managers with performance management processes.\n• Track completion of performance evaluations.\n• Maintain performance-related documentation.\n• Identify recurring performance or workforce concerns and communicate them to the CHRO.\n\nCompliance\nSupport compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws and regulations.\n• Assist with maintaining required employment records.\n• Support HR audits and compliance activities.\n• Ensure HR documentation is completed accurately and timely.\n• Stay informed of changes to HR policies, procedures, and applicable employment requirements.\n• Assist with implementation and communication of HR policies and procedures.\n\nTraining Support\n• Coordinate with the Trainer/Training Specialist regarding new-hire onboarding.\n• Assist with scheduling required employee training.\n• Help track the completion of required training.\n• Identify employee training needs and communicate them to the Trainer and CHRO.\n• Support employee development initiatives.\n\nLocation & Organizational Support\n• Provide HR support at PDI Main and Fort Carson as needed.\n• Travel between PDI locations to support employees and organizational needs.\n• Participate in meetings, employee events, recruitment activities, and other HR initiatives.\n• Build positive working relationships with employees, supervisors, managers, and leadership at all PDI locations.\n• Perform other RESPONSIBILITIES\nThis position does not have direct supervisory responsibilities.\nThe HR Generalist may provide guidance and support to employees, supervisors, and managers regarding HR processes and procedures but does not have independent authority to hire, terminate, or take formal disciplinary action unless specifically delegated by the CHRO.\n\nREQUIRED EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE\nMinimum Qualifications\n• Bachelor's degree in human resources, Business Administration, Organizational Development, or a related field OR equivalent combination of education and relevant HR experience.\n• Minimum of 2 years of experience in human resources or a related field preferred.\n• Experience supporting recruiting, onboarding, employee relations, benefits, or HR administration.\n• Strong verbal, written, interpersonal, and organizational skills.\n• Ability to maintain confidential information and exercise sound judgment.\n• Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications, including Word, Excel, Outlook, and PowerPoint.\n• Ability to work independently while also functioning effectively as part of a small HR team.\n• Ability and willingness to travel between PDI locations as needed.\nPreferred Qualifications\n• Bachelor's degree in human resources, Business Administration, Organizational Development, or related field.\n• Human Resources certifications such as SHRM-CP, SHRM-SCP, PHR, or SPHR.\n• Experience working in a nonprofit, human services, healthcare, disability services, or similarly regulated environment.\n• Experience with an HRIS and applicant tracking system. (Paylocity)\n• Knowledge of federal and Colorado employment laws and regulations.\n• Experience supporting employee relations and workplace investigations.\n• Experience with benefits and leave administration.\n• Experience working in a multi-location organization.\nEquivalent combinations of education, training, and experience may be considered when they provide the knowledge, skills, and abilities necessary to successfully perform the essential functions of the position.\n\nWORK ENVIRONMENT\nThe Human Resources Clerk II primarily works in an office environment and regularly interacts with employees, supervisors, managers, and leadership. The position may require travel to other PDI locations, including PDI Main and Fort Carson, as needed to support HR operations, employee needs, recruiting, onboarding, meetings, or other business requirements.\n\nThe position may require:\nWorking independently and as part of a team.\nFrequent interaction with employees at all levels of the organization.\nTravel between PDI locations.\nOccasional work outside of normal business hours based on organizational needs.\nParticipation in meetings, training, recruitment events, and employee activities.\nThe employee is expected to maintain a valid driver's license and comply with PDI requirements related to business travel when driving a personal or company vehicle for work purposes.\n\nPOSITION TYPE AND EXPECTED HOURS OF WORK\nThis is a full-time, non-exempt position. The standard work schedule is generally 7:30-4pm, variable. Monday through Friday and includes a required unpaid 30-minute meal period. Schedule adjustments may be necessary to accommodate employees’ work schedules and training needs.\n\nPHYSICAL DEMANDS\nThe physical requirements listed below represent those generally necessary to perform the essential functions of the position.
