Principal Workday Engineer (HRIS)

Generate Biomedicines seeks a Principal Workday Engineer to design, build, and maintain integrations connecting Workday with adjacent people and business systems. This hands-on role owns integrations end-to-end, partners with functional experts to translate business needs into technical solutions, and explores AI-enabled workflow opportunities.
Responsibilities
- Own design, build, testing, deployment, and ongoing support of People Technology integrations
- Design inbound and outbound integrations across Workday, recruiting, and adjacent HR platforms
- Partner with functional leads to align configurations and translate business needs into technical solutions
- Monitor production integrations, troubleshoot failures, and improve reliability and alerting
- Evaluate and support deployment of AI-enabled workflows to streamline HR processes
Requirements
- Proven experience designing and building enterprise integrations using APIs, webhooks, and iPaaS tools
- Deep technical knowledge of Workday HRIS configuration and integration patterns
- Experience with benefits, payroll, time and absence, or talent management systems
- Strong troubleshooting and production support skills for mission-critical data flows
- Ability to translate business requirements into technical designs and implementation plans
- Experience with integration documentation, testing strategies, and operational runbooks
