Production Planning ManagerMadden Industrial Craftsmen is seeking an experienced Production Planning Manager for a long-term opportunity with a manufacturing company located in Tigard, OR. The person in this position will lead the production planning function and oversee a team responsible for scheduling, expediting, order processing, and production documentation. PAY: $72,500+/year DOEProduction Planning Manager Responsibilities:Lead and oversee the daily activities of the production planning team, including scheduling, expediting, order processing, and production documentation functionsEstablish clear priorities, performance expectations, and accountability across the planning departmentCoach, train, and develop team members while identifying cross-training and succession opportunitiesBuild a cohesive planning function by aligning priorities, standardizing processes, and improving communication between planning-related groupsConduct regular planning meetings to review production forecasts, material constraints, capacity requirements, priorities, and potential issuesDevelop rolling demand forecasts across multiple time horizons to support manufacturing and material requirementsProduce short-term production forecasts identifying potential labor, material, and capacity constraintsEvaluate production capacity and material feasibility in support of critical RFQs, RFPs, and customer requirementsReview open orders against material availability and coordinate with Purchasing when material timing does not align with production needsMonitor production plans against actual performance to manage WIP, reduce overproduction, and improve schedule adherenceCoordinate communication between Production, Project Management, Purchasing, and other departments to support customer commitmentsEvaluate departmental workflows and sequencing to identify and implement process improvementsDevelop and maintain planning tools that improve efficiency, visibility, responsiveness, and decision-makingEstablish, track, and analyze departmental KPIs and performance metricsPrepare and present planning, capacity, and production reports to company leadershipAdapt production priorities and planning strategies in response to changing customer and operational requirementsProduction Planning Manager Qualifications:5+ years of experience in manufacturing, production planning, supply chain, scheduling, or related operations2+ years of supervisory or management experience leading a planning, scheduling, expediting, or similar manufacturing teamStrong understanding of production planning, scheduling, capacity planning, material requirements, and manufacturing workflowsDemonstrated experience implementing, operating, or training others on ERP/MRP systemsExperience developing or working with manufacturing routings, work instructions, or process instructionsExperience with demand forecasting and identifying labor, material, and production capacity constraintsFamiliarity with Lean manufacturing principles; experience in a low-volume or high-mix manufacturing environment preferredExperience working within an ISO-certified manufacturing environment preferredStrong process-improvement mindset with demonstrated critical-thinking and problem-solving abilitiesAbility to work effectively across Production, Purchasing, Project Management, and other operational departmentsStrong leadership, communication, organizational, and project-management skillsAbility to manage competing priorities, deadlines, ambiguity, and changing customer requirementsProficiency with Microsoft Office, particularly ExcelAssociate or bachelor's degree in a related field preferred; additional relevant manufacturing and planning experience may be considered in lieu of a degreeAbility to lift and carry up to 35 lbs. as neededBenefits: $72.5k+ depending on experience Medical insurance 401(k) with company match Paid sick leave Paid holidays
