Lead Inpatient Technician/Bartow, FL/JV The primary function of the Lead Technician is to maintain a therapeutic, safe, and secure environment to ensure client safety. This Specialist functions as an active part of the interdisciplinary treatment team, providing continuous client care, monitoring, supervision, interaction, and role modeling to adult and adolescent clients. The Lead Technician works to support the overall goal of stabilization of client crises to reintegrate into the community. The Lead Technician will also be required to transport patients if they meet the driving requirements.

Essential Duties/Requirements/Activities:
Qualifications: Education: Minimum of High School Diploma/GED Experience: Prefer 2 years of experience as a direct care worker; a higher educational level can account for years of experience. Certifications: Clear and Active current Behavioral Health Technician (BHT) certificate preferred. Training: Complete all PRC-required pieces of training. Complete all contact hours required for renewal of certification (if applicable) Attend all PRC clinical and administrative functions. Complete Aggression Control Technique (ACT) training. Knowledge and Skills: Computer skills- Microsoft Office, Credible, and the Internet. Ability to work independently with little supervision. Good organizational skills. Ability to respond appropriately in stressful situations while maintaining self-control. Demonstrate the ability to communicate appropriately and professionally in stressful situations with clients and/or peers. Demonstrate the ability to prioritize workload and multi-tasking when needed. Good verbal and written communication skills. Demonstrate effective verbal intervention, ACT, and seclusion/restraint procedures. Shows the use of good judgment and objectivity in client interactions. Safety Equipment Universal Precautions. Comply with Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) rules and regulations. Life Safety Equipment (fire extinguisher), oxygen cylinder, and basic life support equipment. Transportation: Must have reliable transportation. Qualify to drive a PRC vehicle: Must have a valid Florida driver's license and renew prior to expiration. Must be at least 25+ years of age and have a clean driving record.
The Specialist will also be required to transport patients if they meet the driving requirements. Machines, Tools, and Equipment Used: Computer, multi-line telephone, fax. Oxygen cylinder and restraints. Technology Requirement: As an employee of Peace River Center, if you are not assigned a company-issued phone, you will be required to authorize the use of the Microsoft Authenticator app on your personal mobile device. This is necessary to access our payroll and communication system, Paycor, and Microsoft email as examples. This will ensure secure and efficient communication with the organization. Supervisory Relationship(s) Reports to CSU Clinical Supervisor Work Environment: The work environment is fast-paced and consists of exposure to physical conditions typical of a normal office environment. The populations cared for will include patients who are confused, delusional, irrational, agitated, or uncooperative. Most of the work is performed while sitting, although the work may require occasional standing or walking and/or the lifting and carrying of small objects. A small amount of travel may be required for meetings etc. to another PRC location.

Essential Duties/Requirements/Activities:
- Provide leadership in ensuring the daily client program schedule is meaningful, aligns with policies and procedures, and occurs as scheduled.
- Work closely with Charge Nurse on coordinating the needs of patients and Team Tech assignments
- Review admission paperwork and ensure it is completed properly with proper signatures from all parties prior to leaving shift.
- Provides assistance to Inpatient Techs as needed for coverage, paperwork, Credible knowledge, ACT support, and Verbal redirection on creative supportive patient care redirection.
- Assist and supervise clients with activities of daily living while promoting independence and dignity.
- Apply appropriate verbal and physical ACT interventions during client confrontations to ensure safety and de-escalation.
- Perform light housekeeping duties.
- Provide documentation and feedback based on observations and interactions with CSU clients.
- Concisely and correctly complete documentation and related paperwork in a timely and professional manner.
- Assist in the implementation of day treatment activities and therapeutic groups for clients.
- Provide peer review and constructive feedback for other Psychiatric Technicians.
- Assist with reviews of seclusion/restraint implementation utilized with clients.
- Assist in providing a safe environment for staff and clients.
- Maintains environment by appropriate monitoring practices.
- Ability to respond to emergencies and provide necessary assistance to employees and clients.
- Assist with the discharge process for CSU clients.
- Ability to arrive at work and be ready to work on time.
