Work Environment

This position is designed as a remote role, allowing for flexibility while primarily servicing our outpatient office. Typical working hours are Monday through Friday, 9:00 AM to 5:00 PM, with the understanding that some scheduling adjustments may be necessary based on patient needs. Key Responsibilities

• Conduct thorough trauma-informed assessments to evaluate the effects of trauma on patients and formulate appropriate treatment plans.
• Establish and implement individualized treatment strategies targeting trauma recovery while encouraging resilience-building in patients.
• Utilize evidence-based therapeutic approaches, including Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR), and Trauma-Focused Cognitive-Behavioral Therapy (TF-CBT), to facilitate healing.
• Conduct both individual and group therapy sessions, creating a safe space for patients to process their experiences and learn healthy coping strategies.
• Work collaboratively with psychiatrists and other health professionals to provide cohesive and integrated care focused on comprehensive healing.
• Provide immediate crisis intervention to patients facing trauma-related emergencies to ensure their safety and mental well-being.
• Educate patients and their families on trauma responses and coping mechanisms to enhance understanding and support.
• Maintain accurate, confidential documentation in accordance with legal and ethical standards, ensuring compliance with health regulations.
• Engage in continuous professional development activities and team meetings aimed at improving trauma-informed practices.
• Stay informed about the latest research developments and best practices in trauma therapy to provide the most effective care.

Patient Population / Client Focus

Our focus primarily revolves around helping individuals coping with the aftermath of trauma, which includes but is not limited to those with PTSD, complex trauma, and dissociative disorders. By providing tailored interventions, our goal is to assist these individuals in reclaiming their lives and enhancing their coping mechanisms in a supportive manner.

Qualifications

• A Master's or Doctoral degree in Social Work, Marriage and Family Therapy, Mental Health Counseling, or Psychology from a regionally accredited institution.
• Valid licensure as an LCMFT, LMFT, LCPC, or LCSW-C in the state of Maryland.
• A minimum of 2 years of post-licensure experience in a relevant mental health setting is preferred.
• A thorough understanding of trauma-related disorders and the application of trauma-informed treatment modalities and interventions.
• Excellent communication skills and the ability to deliver compassionate care in high-stress situations.
• Proficiency in using electronic health record (EHR) systems and familiar with necessary technology and software applications.
• A collaborative spirit with an emphasis on teamwork and integrated care practices.

Preferred Experience

Experience delivering trauma-focused therapies, knowledge of community resources available for trauma survivors, and the ability to work effectively with diverse populations are advantageous. Familiarity with crisis intervention techniques will also enhance the candidate's effectiveness in this role.

Compensation and Benefits
