Social Worker (MSW) – Part Time – Main Hospital Location: Mariposa, California – Gateway to Yosemite National Park. Department: Hospital Openings: 1 Representation: This is a non‑represented position. Position Summary Under the general supervision of the Director of Nursing, Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW), and assigned departmental leadership, the Social Worker (MSW) provides professional social work services to patients and families in the hospital’s main departments. This position assists patients and families in understanding and coping with the social, emotional, financial, and environmental factors that may affect their health and well‑being. The Social Worker serves as a key member of the interdisciplinary care team by conducting psychosocial assessments, facilitating discharge planning, coordinating community resources, providing supportive counseling, and advocating for patient needs. Key Responsibilities Conduct psychosocial assessments and respond to social work referrals in a timely manner. Develop individualized intervention and treatment plans for patients and families. Provide crisis intervention, supportive counseling, and short‑term therapeutic services. Assist patients and families in addressing emotional, social, financial, legal, insurance, and resource‑related concerns. Facilitate discharge planning and coordinate appropriate community resources and support services. Collaborate with physicians, nursing staff, case managers, therapists, and other healthcare professionals. Participate in interdisciplinary care planning meetings and patient care conferences. Maintain accurate, timely, and complete patient documentation in accordance with regulatory and District requirements. Assist with abuse reporting and investigation activities as required. Maintain professional relationships with community agencies including Adult Protective Services (APS), Ombudsman Services, Public Conservator offices, Senior Services, and other support organizations. Provide education, guidance, and consultation to patients, families, and staff regarding available resources and support services. Maintain patient confidentiality and adhere to all applicable privacy regulations. Perform additional related duties as assigned. Minimum Qualifications Education: Master’s Degree in Social Work (MSW) from a school accredited by the Council on Social Work Education (CSWE). Experience: Minimum one (1) year of experience in a healthcare, medical, behavioral health, or related setting preferred. Relevant internship and/or practicum experience may be considered toward meeting experience requirements. Licensure & Certifications: Current BLS Healthcare Provider certification required. Valid California Driver’s License required. Current automobile insurance meeting District requirements.
