Litigation Legal Assistant – Commercial/Construction Litigation Location: Orlando, FL 32801 – Downtown Orlando Position Type: Direct Hire Schedule: Monday–Friday | Onsite Experience: 3+ years of defense litigation experience in a law firm environment Law firm is seeking an experienced Litigation Legal Assistant to join its busy litigation practice group in Orlando. The ideal candidate will have 3+ years of defense litigation experience , with a strong preference for candidates who have supported commercial litigation and/or construction litigation matters in a law firm environment. This is an excellent opportunity for a detail-oriented legal professional who enjoys working in a collaborative, fast-paced environment and takes pride in providing high-level support to attorneys and clients. What You’ll Do Organize and maintain physical and electronic case files and records. Open new matters, including completing conflict checks, and close files according to established procedures. Maintain and update database records as case and client information changes. Create charts, spreadsheets, and other documents to track and organize case information. Prepare, type, proofread, and edit legal documents from dictation, handwritten notes, or other sources. Manage attorney calendars, contact lists, and file listings. Schedule meetings, conference rooms, depositions, and other appointments as needed. Assist with the client billing process, including: Inputting attorney time Editing and reviewing bills Delivering bills electronically and in paper format Initiate, answer, and direct telephone calls while professionally handling messages and client communications. Build and maintain positive relationships with clients, attorneys, and colleagues. Provide general administrative and litigation support to the practice group. What We're Looking For 3+ years of defense litigation legal assistant experience in a law firm. Commercial litigation and/or construction litigation experience strongly preferred. Strong understanding of litigation procedures and terminology. Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail. Professional demeanor and strong written and verbal communication skills. Ability to prioritize multiple deadlines and work effectively in a fast-paced environment. Team-oriented attitude with a proactive approach to assignments. Strong computer skills and proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite . iManage experience is a plus.
