Derivatives Operations Analyst

We are seeking a Derivatives Operations Analyst to support critical post-trade and settlement activities across a broad range of derivatives products. This role is responsible for ensuring the accurate and timely settlement of derivative-related cash flows, performing reconciliations, investigating exceptions, and partnering with internal and external stakeholders to resolve operational issues. The ideal candidate will have experience supporting derivatives operations within a capital markets environment, strong analytical and problem-solving skills, and the ability to thrive in a fast-paced, deadline-driven setting.

Key Responsibilities

• Manage the settlement of cash flows associated with bilateral and cleared derivatives transactions.
• Monitor and process daily payment activity across multiple derivative products, ensuring timely and accurate settlement.
• Perform reconciliations of cash activity, positions, and trades, identifying and resolving discrepancies.
• Investigate and resolve cash, trade, and position breaks in partnership with internal business teams, counterparties, and clearing organizations.
• Respond to inquiries related to settlements, cash flows, trade activity, and operational exceptions.
• Serve as a point of contact for internal stakeholders, clients, counterparties, and market infrastructure partners.
• Support cleared derivatives and futures operations, including interaction with clearing brokers and clearing houses.
• Escalate operational risks, control issues, and unresolved exceptions in a timely manner.
• Participate in process improvement initiatives, system testing, and operational enhancement projects.
• Maintain adherence to established controls, procedures, and regulatory requirements.

Required Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, Business, or a related field, or equivalent industry experience.
• 3-5 years of experience in derivatives operations, capital markets operations, trade support, settlements, or a related financial services function.
• Experience supporting derivatives products such as interest rate swaps, futures, cleared swaps, FX derivatives, or other OTC products.
• Strong reconciliation, exception management, and problem-resolution skills.
• Ability to analyze operational issues and coordinate resolution across multiple stakeholders.
• Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage competing priorities and deadlines.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Excel and other standard business applications.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience supporting cleared derivatives and futures markets.
• Knowledge of derivatives settlement processes and lifecycle events.
• Familiarity with clearing organizations and market infrastructure providers.
• Experience working with capital markets, treasury, or trading environments.
• Exposure to operational risk management and process improvement initiatives.
• Experience using trade processing, settlement, treasury, or reconciliation platforms.
