Secondary responsibilities include supporting the integrity of curricula, encouraging student success, and promoting the mission of the academic division to which the faculty member belongs as well as the College as a whole. Reports To: Dean of Science, Engineering, and Mathematics Division / Dept. Chair for Biology Qualifications: Master’s Degree with at least 18 graduate hours in Biological Sciences or closely associated field. Prior higher‑ed teaching experience. Required Knowledge, Skills & Abilities: Positive human relations and communication skills; ability to communicate and articulate biological concepts verbally and in writing; ability to read and understand content to assist students; ability to interact effectively with students, faculty, and staff; organization and attention to detail; basic computer and graphing calculator skills; discretion with passwords and student information; ability to use laboratory equipment and tutorial programs; willingness to train on new programs and equipment; punctuality and reliability. Physical Demands / Working Conditions General Physical Requirements: Light work, may occasionally exert up to 20 pounds of force to move objects. Physical Activities: Frequent communication with students, faculty, staff; frequent movement around classroom and lab; frequent standing; operation of equipment involving repetitive motions of hands and wrists; frequent use of computer and other office equipment; frequent positioning to work with classroom and lab equipment. Visual Acuity: Judge, observe, and assess accuracy, neatness, and thoroughness of work; make general observations. Working Conditions: Indoors in classroom, office, and lab areas.
