Senior Counsel

Overview Join Tyson & Mendes, a national litigation firm focused on insurance defense and trial advocacy. We seek accomplished senior attorneys with courtroom confidence, leadership, and a strategic mindset to contribute to our growth in the defense of high-stakes matters. An active Texas bar license is required. Responsibilities Develop a compelling case theme and lead high-exposure matters through court appearances, depositions, briefs, and trials Independently manage court appearances, depositions, briefs, and trials Collaborate with a team across experience levels and provide leadership to less experienced attorneys Maintain routine client communications and cultivate relationships with current and prospective clients Requirements JD from an ABA-accredited law school Active license to practice in your state (Texas preferred if applicable) 8+ years of solid litigation experience, including discovery and trial preparation Ability to manage full case responsibilities with minimal supervision Proficiency with time management systems and MS Office (Word, PowerPoint, Outlook) Strong listening, verbal, and written communication skills; professional demeanor Compensation and Benefits Base salary range: $150,000 – $200,000 per year, commensurate with experience Annual billable hours bonus opportunities and comprehensive benefits across health/vision/dental/life 401(k) with employer match; student loan repayment assistance or 529 plan options Paid parental leave, technology stipend, and in-house training and leadership development Flexible work model (remote, hybrid, or onsite) and defined pathway to partnership Equal Employment Opportunity: Tyson & Mendes is an equal opportunity employer.
