Assistant Project Manager (School Construction)

Job Overview Company: NEW ROAD Construction Management. Salary/Pay Rate: $60,000 - $80,000 per year. Location: Cherry Hill, NJ. Job/Employment Type: Full Time onsite. Project Scope: Professional Construction Management as the Owner's Representative. (K-12, Higher Ed, and institutional projects) Mandatory Licences & Certifications: Valid driver's license, and current insurance. The Opportunity You will step into a pivotal support role, working directly alongside senior managers to drive the success of complex construction projects. This position offers entry-level candidates a high-impact environment to master industry workflows while ensuring technical excellence for a firm built on integrity. How You Will Make An Impact Document daily site activities and progress reports to maintain project transparency and accountability. Coordinate essential project activities and job meetings to ensure all team members remain aligned. Review architectural and engineering designs to verify that project execution matches contract documents. Maintain detailed logs and filing systems to support efficient contract administration and quality assurance. Follow up aggressively on open issues and technical details to keep construction moving forward. Interface with contractor superintendents and testing services to verify compliance with safety codes. Responsible for effectively and efficiently managing public construction projects. Support pre-construction efforts by evaluating design processes against the owner’s specific requirements. Required Qualifications & Experience High level of computer literacy and proficiency with standard office software. Ability to read and understand basic architectural and engineering plans. Strong organizational skills with the ability to act as a self-starter in a field environment. Excellent written and oral communication skills for preparing meeting notes and reports. Physical capability to climb ladders and work in varied hot and cold weather conditions. High level of computer literacy and experience preparing detailed meeting notes. Excellent written and oral communication skills. Computer skills and proficiency in MS office suite. Preferred Qualifications & Experience Associates Degree in a related field of study or trade level management experience. Up to 5 years of experience in construction management, scheduling or quality assurance. Familiarity with civil, structural, electrical, and mechanical design sequences. Advanced understanding of contract administration and regulatory agency coordination. HVAC or electrical experience is a plus. Commercial roofing experience is a plus. Bilingual in Spanish is a plus.
