Electrical Project Engineer – EHV Substation (765kV) Location Dallas, TX, US Phoenix, AZ, US College Station, TX, US Overland Park, KS, US Austin, TX, US Houston, TX, US Responsibilities Function as a Technical Specialist or Project Lead for substation projects up to 765kV. Assist in engineering detailed design and EPC for substation projects. Develop protection and control design deliverables including protective relays, panel arrangements, single line and three‑line diagrams, AC/DC schematics, relay panel wiring, and equipment wiring. Prepare physical design deliverables such as yard layout plans, grounding, lightning protection, control building arrangements, and auxiliary AC/DC power systems. Perform or oversee quality review of electrical substation design packages. Provide guidance and mentorship to junior team members. Prepare electrical equipment specifications and Bills of Materials (BOM) for procurement and construction. Communicate and coordinate project activities with clients, vendors, subcontractors and stakeholders. Present proposals, designs and project activities. Travel to client and vendor offices and project sites for design reviews, construction coordination and field verification as required. Prepare and manage design budgets and schedules. Assist in business development and pursuit activities. Maintain compliance with quality program standards and change‑management processes. Provide technical direction on design guides, standards and engineering codes. Coordinate with internal and external teams on moderately complex projects. Support resource management strategy and engineering resource oversight for small groups. Preferred Qualifications Experience in EHV substation design (500kV+) – physical and/or protection & controls. Project lead and technical specialist experience overseeing utility substation projects. QA/QC reviews and quality assurance/quality checks. Strong coordination and communication with clients, multidisciplinary leads, and project managers. Professional Engineer (PE) license. Proficient with Bluebeam Revu and Microsoft Office (Outlook, Excel, PowerPoint). Minimum Qualifications Bachelor's Degree in Engineering from an accredited program. Minimum of 5 years related work experience. Successful completion of pre‑employment onboarding requirements (criminal/civil background check, drug screen, motor vehicle records search).
