Varsity Boys Lacrosse Defensive Coordinator Posted 7/27/2026 Kentucky Country Day School (KCD)is seeking an enthusiastic, knowledgeable, and student-centeredVarsity Boys Lacrosse Defensive Coordinatorto join our coaching staff. KCD is a JK-12 independent school in Louisville, Kentucky, committed to developing Citizens, Scholars, and Stewards. We are looking for a coach who is passionate about teaching the game of lacrosse while helping student-athletes grow as leaders, teammates, and young men. Responsibilities Plan and implement the varsity defensive system. Coach and develop defensemen and long-stick midfielders. Prepare practice plans and drills focused on defensive fundamentals, team concepts, communication, and transition play. Assist with game planning, film review, and opponent scouting. Work collaboratively with the Head Coach and coaching staff to build a positive, competitive, and unified program. Foster a culture of accountability, sportsmanship, and character. Attend practices, games, team meetings, and program events. Support player development at all levels of the program. Qualifications Previous lacrosse coaching and/or playing experience, preferably at the high school, collegiate, or club level. Strong knowledge of defensive strategies, team defense, clearing, riding, and goalkeeper communication. Excellent communication and leadership skills. Passion for mentoring student-athletes and contributing to a positive team culture. Ability to meet KHSAA and Kentucky Country Day School coaching requirements, including background screening and required certifications. Preferred Qualifications Collegiate playing or coaching experience. Experience using game film and analytics to enhance player development.
