Preferred Skills and Experience:
- Valid Special Education Teacher certification
- Experience in K-2 settings, especially with mental health or emotional/behavioral classroom environments
- Knowledge of individualized education plans (IEPs) and data-driven instruction
- Strong communication and collaboration abilities
- Commitment to fostering an inclusive and positive learning atmosphere
- Adaptability and creativity in classroom management and lesson planning
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and implement individualized intervention plans tailored to each student’s needs
- Deliver targeted instruction to support academic, social, and behavioral growth
- Monitor and document student progress, adjusting strategies as needed
- Collaborate with general education teachers, school support staff, and families
- Create a structured, nurturing classroom environment that encourages student engagement and achievement
- Maintain compliance with state and federal regulations related to special education
- Actively participate in team meetings and professional development opportunities
