Key Responsibilities and Duties Direct Therapy:Implementing treatment plans or protocols developed by the supervising SLP for individuals or groups.Screenings:Conducting speech-language screenings without interpretation.Documentation:Documenting client progress toward goals and reporting to the supervisor. Support Functions:Preparing therapy materials, setting up equipment, and managing daily logistics (e.g., scheduling, cleaning). Family Interaction:Assisting with family education and, if competent, acting as an interpreter. Requirements and Qualifications Education:A bachelors degree in Speech-Language Pathology or Communication Disorders is required. Registration: Must be registered with the Indiana Speech-Language-Hearing Association Board. Work Environment and Physical Demands Physicality:Involves sitting, walking, standing, and occasional lifting, stooping, or kneeling.Supervision:Requires regular direct and indirect supervision by an ASHA-certified SLP. Required Skills Clinical:Understanding of speech/language disorders and therapy techniques.Technical:Ability to use specialized equipment and technology.Interpersonal:Strong communication for interacting with clients, families, and staff.
