Outsourced Accounting and Advisory AssociateOur SOAR department is growing! We are seeking a proactive and self-motivated Outsourced Accounting and Advisory Associate to work in our Strategic Operations and Advisory Resources team in our Tucson office.Job DescriptionThe Outsourced Accounting & Advisory Services Associate is responsible for meeting client needs and deadlines. This position works under the management of the SOAR department.  Essential Duties/Responsibilities Enters and maintains client accounting records in QuickBooks or other accounting softwareReviews general ledgers for potential mis-postings or odd balances and works with assigned reviewer to prepare appropriate adjusting journal entriesResearches and corrects account discrepanciesPrepares sales and payroll tax returnsPrepares 1099s and W-2sPrepares basic financial statements based on prior statements to include income tax basis and preparation reportsWorks with the responsible client biller for final client decision and handling of accounting issuesEffectively prioritizes backlog and client projects to meet deadlinesContributes to firm's mission of providing excellent client service and acts as a technical resource for others in the firmResearches and concludes on simple client accounting issuesPerforms other accounting services and duties as assigned Knowledge, Skills and Abilities  Strong written and verbal communication skillsStrong organizational and analytical skillsBasic knowledge of general accounting practices to solve issues that may arise over the course of an engagementBasic knowledge of Quickbooks to include activities involving cash receipts and disbursementsKnowledge in Construction or Cannabis preferred Education and Experience A High School Diploma or GED requiredAssociates degree or higher in Accounting or related field preferred1 to 2 years of related accounting experiencePhysical Requirement and Work EnvironmentNo physical exertion requiredRequired to sit for long periods of timeUsual office working conditions25 - 75% travel for field work Schedule Standard Work Hours- Typical Monday - Friday business week, evenings and weekends as needed, primarily during busy periods
