Peer Advocate Pool - Fresh Start and Running Start

Job Title
Position Highlights This position assists new and continuing Fresh Start/Running Start students, directing them to campus and community resources, answering questions regarding the program and performing basic clerical duties in support of the program.
Essential Functions
- Answer telephone and email inquiries.
- Use the Fresh Start/Running Start Resource Room personal computers and Outlook software to schedule appointments for Fresh Start/Running Start staff
- Provide information about TCC student services and student support systems.
- Answer questions from students and prospective students regarding Fresh Start admissions and registration procedures.
- Handle confidential materials and information.
- Perform basic word processing tasks.
- Maintain Resource Room information/brochure racks.
- Perform outreach or special projects under the direction/supervision of Fresh Start/Running Start staff.
Qualifications
Minimum Qualifications
- GPA of 2.30 or higher.
- Have attended TCC at least one quarter, preferably two quarters of attendance.
Preferred Qualifications
- Be a current Fresh Start or Running Start student at Tacoma Community College.
Conditions of Employment
- Successfully complete a criminal history background check prior to employment.
- Regular and predictable attendance.
