Diesel Technician

Job Summary: Completes repairs and rebuilds on engine products in a service workshop under supervision We are looking for a talented Diesel Technician to join our Distribution business in (Grand Forks, ND). Will make an impact in the following ways: Complete repairs on engine products in a service shop Perform maintenance/repairs utilizing diagnostic tools Maintain detailed records of serviced vehicles Adhere to Cummins Health, Safety & Environmental policies Ongoing development/certifications on new and existing Cummins products Maintain own tools In order to be successful in this role you will need the following: Primarily engaged in maintenance or basic repairs/diagnostics Requires direct supervision and review of workmanship quality Demonstrates an understanding on access to engine repair process information sources. Understands after-treatment system and can identify major components and their function at a rudimentary level. Has worked on external components on a diesel engine and understands the basic concepts. Has some knowledge of engine diagnostic software Core Responsibilities: Nothing to add for core responsibilities Skill and Education:

• 1) Heavy duty refrigeration (EPA 609), heavy truck and industrial refrigeration (EPA 609)
• 2) Heavy duty chassis and suspension experience
• 3) Heavy duty trailer maintenance experience

A current valid license is required for this role This role requires a 5 year motor vehicle report, free from major violations This role requires applicant to pass a Department of Transportation (DOT) physical 3 years driving experience This role is subject to Department of Transportation (DOT) driving regulations including Hours of Service and Electronic Log Booking Device use -Federal law requires operators of commercial vehicles to be 21 years of age or older, applicant must be 21 years of age A CDL may be required to obtain upon hire Federal law requires a CDL holder to be 21 years of age or older Education, Licenses, Certifications: Apprentice Trained Engine Technician (Preferred) Vocational diploma from relevant technical institution Locally valid driving permit (Preferred) This position may require licensing for compliance with export controls or sanctions regulations. Experience: Minimal level of work shop experience required Basic level knowledge of and/or experience with engine products Compensation and Benefits Base salary rate commensurate with experience.
