Job Overview A law firm seeks an Associate specializing in Biotech/Life Sciences for its Washington, DC office. This role offers a hybrid work arrangement, combining in-office and remote work as needed. Duties Prepare and prosecute biotechnology-related patent applications. Conduct examiner interviews and manage patent prosecution tasks. Arrange and conduct patentability, state-of-the-art, infringement, and validity searches. Prepare patentability opinions. Requirements Law degree from an ABA-accredited law school. Admission to at least one state bar. Registered to practice before the USPTO. One or more years of recent patent prosecution experience in biotechnology. Education Advanced degree (Ph.D.) preferred in genetics, immunology, cell biology, proteomics, virology, bacteriology, or molecular biology. Certifications Registered to practice before the USPTO.
