Job Overview A law firm seeks a mid-level associate in Washington, DC, with 3-5 years of experience in privacy and technology regulatory and advisory matters, focusing on health and life sciences. Duties Develop privacy compliance programs under HIPAA, state health privacy laws, and other regulations. Enhance privacy compliance programs, including governance structures and risk assessments. Advise clients on legal implications of data uses and flows. Negotiate agreements, including HIPAA business associate and data processing agreements. Support client counseling on privacy issues in product development and research. Manage workstreams and participate in client calls and presentations. Requirements 3-5 years of experience in privacy or technology regulatory counseling. Strong academic credentials and excellent communication skills. Membership in or eligibility for the D.C. Bar. Experience in health and life sciences privacy compliance preferred. Familiarity with health privacy laws is a plus. Ability to manage multiple deadlines and work collaboratively. Education Law degree from an ABA-accredited law school. Certifications Member of the Bar in the United States. Skills Strong analytical and judgment skills. Excellent research, writing, and oral communication skills. Ability to deliver client-ready work product in a fast-paced environment.
