Payroll Supervisor

Location: Sterling, VA - hybrid position Compensation : $90-95K Benefits : Addison Group's client has benefit offerings that include medical, dental, vision, and 401(k). Job Description: Manage the full-cycle payroll process for 500-1K employees, ensuring accurate and timely payroll processing for multi-state employees. Process payroll using ADP Workforce Now and Deltek Costpoint, while supporting payroll system upgrades, implementations, and the transition to UKG. Administer payroll for a government contracting environment, ensuring compliance with DCAA requirements, labor distribution practices, and applicable federal, state, and local payroll regulations. Drive payroll process improvements through standardization, automation, and continuous improvement initiatives. Partner with HR, Finance, Accounting, FP&A, Shared Services, and external payroll vendors to support payroll operations, resolve complex payroll issues, and maintain strong vendor relationships. Review payroll tax filings, maintain payroll records and documentation, prepare recurring payroll reports, and ensure audit readiness, data integrity, and confidentiality. Develop and maintain payroll policies, procedures, and internal controls while staying current on payroll legislation and industry best practices. Requirements: Minimum of 5 years of progressive experience managing payroll operations. At least 3 years of hands‑on experience with payroll systems, including implementation, maintenance, or optimization. Previous experience leading a payroll function is preferred; candidates who have served as a Payroll Lead with demonstrated team leadership and oversight responsibilities will also be considered.
