School-Based Registered Nurse (RN) - Waukegan, Illinois

Qualifications & Experience:

• Active and current RN license required (RN Renewal Only for the 26-27 school year).
• Previous experience in a school environment strongly preferred.
• Knowledge of best practices in pediatric and adolescent care.
• Capable of providing emergency response and managing chronic conditions.
• Excellent communication and organizational skills.
• Compassionate, approachable, and adaptable in a changing environment.
• Familiarity with relevant documentation, confidentiality standards, and care planning.

Primary Responsibilities:

• Deliver direct nursing care to students, including administering medication, monitoring chronic illnesses, and responding to health emergencies.
• Conduct health screenings, maintain student health records, and assist with immunization compliance.
• Collaborate with faculty, staff, and families to coordinate care plans supporting student health needs.
• Promote health education initiatives for students and staff.
• Provide guidance and support in cases of infectious disease outbreaks and other public health matters.
• Ensure compliance with all state and federal health regulations.
