Salary Range: $59,000 - $89,000 depending on experience

The Opportunity

Key Responsibilities

• Supervise and train junior machinists on equipment operation and safety protocols.
• Program, set up, and operate advanced CNC machinery for complex part production.
• Perform quality inspections on finished products, ensuring adherence to specifications and tolerances.
• Troubleshoot and resolve machining issues, optimizing processes for efficiency and accuracy.
• Maintain and perform preventative maintenance on all machining equipment.
• Collaborate with engineering and production teams to develop efficient manufacturing strategies.
• Lead continuous improvement initiatives within the machine shop.

Recommended Qualifications

• 5+ years of experience as a machinist in a manufacturing environment
• Proven ability to program, set up, and operate various CNC machines (mills, lathes)
• Strong understanding of GD&T and ability to interpret complex engineering drawings
• Demonstrated leadership experience, including training and mentoring junior machinists
• Expertise in selecting appropriate tooling, speeds, and feeds for diverse materials
• Ability to troubleshoot machining processes and perform preventative maintenance on equipment

Bonus Qualifications

• Experience with CAD/CAM software for programming CNC machines
• Demonstrated ability to train and mentor junior machinists
• Familiarity with lean manufacturing principles and continuous improvement methodologies
• Certification in a specialized machining skill (e.g., EDM, 5-axis machining)
• Proven track record of optimizing machining processes for efficiency and cost reduction
