Salary Range: $53,000 - $83,000 depending on experience

The Opportunity

We are partnering with organizations in Jenison that are seeking Lead Machinists. Key Responsibilities

• Supervise and train junior machinists on equipment operation and safety protocols.
• Program, set up, and operate CNC machinery for complex part production.
• Interpret engineering blueprints, schematics, and technical specifications to ensure accurate fabrication.
• Perform quality control inspections on finished products using precision measuring instruments.
• Troubleshoot and resolve machining issues, optimizing processes for efficiency and accuracy.
• Maintain and repair machinery, ensuring proper functionality and adherence to maintenance schedules.
• Collaborate with engineering and production teams to develop new products and improve existing designs.

Recommended Qualifications

• 5-7 years of experience as a machinist in a manufacturing environment
• Proven ability to program, set up, and operate CNC mills and lathes
• Strong understanding of G-code and M-code programming
• Experience with various metal fabrication techniques and machinery
• Ability to read and interpret blueprints, technical drawings, and GD&T
• Demonstrated leadership experience, including training and mentoring junior machinists

Bonus Qualifications

• Experience with CAD/CAM software for design and programming
• Ability to mentor junior machinists and apprentices
• Certification in a specialized machining technique (e.g., CNC programming, EDM)
• Familiarity with lean manufacturing principles and continuous improvement methodologies
