Accounts Payable Specialist

Manage all aspects of accounts payable as well as maintain an automated accounting system ensuring accurate and timely accounting of transactions. Analyze payables and customer data to determine weekly check runs and assists with all other aspects of the Finance department as requested to provide accurate and timely information to management. Maintain excellent vendor relationships. Location This position is based out of St. Paul Minneapolis. Analyze accounts payable and receipts and determine accuracy for payment runs. Maintain and enforce accounts payable policies and procedures. Maintain and process entries in Corcentric platform. Professional liaison with Corcentric platform to better resolve issues as they arise. Maintain strong relationships with purchasing team and outside vendors. Ensure all payments are processed accurately, in a timely manner in compliance with company policies and procedures. Reconcile purchase orders with invoices where exceptions exist. Process non-PO invoices and check requests with accurate receipts and approval process. Maintain Accounts Payable email inbox with efficiency and retainage accuracy. Ensure accurate vendor records and complete thorough verifications on set up and changes. Monitor internal controls to safeguard company assets and prevent fraud. Thorough knowledge of GL accounts and posting entries. Understand International payments and conversation rate adjustments. Ability to compile and provide a monthly accrual report. Maintain backup documentation and provide audit support when requested. Identify and implement opportunities for process automation and efficiency improvements within the AP workflow. Maintain and update Excel files as needed by management. Capable of researching issues and providing thorough and timely responses to internal and external business partners/ Accept other responsibilities as assigned. Supervisory Responsibility This position has supervisory roles of the entire Finance and Accounting organization. This job operates in a professional office environment. This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers, filing cabinets, and facsimile machines. Travel 0% Required Education and Experience Education: Bachelor’s degree or associate degree or equivalent from a two-year college or technical school preferred. Experience: Minimum 2-5 years’ experience in a finance or payables related position preferred. Communication: Strong listening and interpersonal skills. Must possess good verbal, written and visual communication skills. Must feel comfortable communicating through phone calls, emails and in-person presentations. Analytical: Excellent analytical, problem solving and decision-making skills. High degree of accuracy, attention to detail and confidentiality. Computer: Strong Microsoft Excel skills (pivot tables/Vlookup), excellent ERP financial system knowledge and basic MS Office skills. Organization: Strong organizational skills and the ability to work on multiple projects simultaneously - prioritize and complete requests in an efficient manner. Attention to detail is a must.
