Construction Project Manager III

Location: 8082 Space Commerce Way, FL - Rocket Park (Rocket City), 309 Merritt Island, FL 32953. Blue Origin Operations – Integrated Supply Chain, Facilities, and Security – is seeking a Project Manager III to oversee construction projects across Blue Origin facilities. This role manages planning, execution, and completion while maintaining budgets, schedules, and quality standards. Duties Plan, direct, and complete construction projects for Blue Origin, maintaining budgets, schedules, and quality standards. Provide field oversight and assistance, create customized schedules, and support negotiation of contracts with General Contractors and subcontractors. Develop and manage all project documentation and ensure compliance with state and governmental regulations. Manage multiple projects simultaneously, applying innovative solutions in challenging situations. Interface with Construction Project Managers and Resident Engineers to ensure project satisfaction. Meet construction management budgets and recommend revisions as necessary. Support the development of short‑ and long‑term schedules, phasing, and sequencing strategies. Implement safety, quality, and ethical standards in accordance with company policies, reinforcing field safety compliance. Conduct site visits, monitor construction progress, and hold regular status meetings with sub‑teams. Ensure construction activities proceed according to predetermined schedules. Develop and deliver progress reports, proposals, documentation, and presentations; analyze results and troubleshoot problem areas. Work with Superintendents to proactively manage scope changes, identify potential crises, and devise contingency plans. Skills and Competencies Review and process invoices, supporting the billing process. Represent the company in project and client meetings. Build and grow business relationships essential to project success. Maintain strict adherence to company policies and procedures. Initiate, plan, complete, monitor, and close construction projects throughout their lifecycles. Develop project plans, budgets, and schedules. Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders to elicit and document requirements. Identify project dependencies, risks, and schedule impacts. Report project progress, including status, risks, opportunities, roadblocks, and KPIs. Assist in contract negotiations and review contractor progress via frequent site visits. Approve invoices, payment applications, and evaluate change requests and orders. Resolve payment or performance disputes and solve daily project issues. Value and incorporate contributions from diverse backgrounds. Maintain a winning attitude that motivates people and fosters a results orientation. Minimum Qualifications 5+ years of on‑site project management, project coordination, facilities management, or equivalent experience. Proficiency with Microsoft Office suite (Excel, PowerPoint, Word, Project, Visio). Physical ability to walk around construction sites, climb stairs, work in adverse weather, and stand for prolonged periods. Experience with project management tools such as MS Project, P6 Primavera, PMWeb, Smartsheet, or similar. Hands‑on problem‑solving skills with a passion for spacecraft systems. Comfortable in a fast‑paced, dynamic environment; self‑starter with a strong bias for action. Attention to detail and high level of accuracy. OSHA Certification. Must be a U.S. citizen, national, permanent resident (Green Card holder), or lawfully admitted as a refugee or granted asylum. Preferred Qualifications Bachelor’s degree in engineering, architecture, or construction management, or a minimum of 5 years of relevant work experience in lieu of a degree. Demonstrable experience delivering results in the face of significant challenges or setbacks. Experience taking calculated risks with a bias for action. Ability to analyze reversible and irreversible decisions. Experience working at all levels of projects and organization, from hands‑on to strategic.
