Project Accountant

Kforce has a client that is seeking a Project Accountant in Seattle, WA.Responsibilities:

• Maintain financial records for assigned projects
• Monitor project costs, budgets, and profitability
• Prepare and analyze project-related financial reports
• Support month-end close activities, including accruals and reconciliations
• Track and allocate labor, materials, subcontractor, and equipment costs
• Review contracts and project documentation to ensure accurate financial reporting
• Assist with billing, invoicing, and revenue recognition activities
• Perform budget-to-actual and variance analysis
• Partner with project managers to identify and resolve financial issues
• Support forecasting and financial planning for ongoing projects
• Ensure compliance with company policies, accounting standards, and internal controls

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field preferred
• 3+ years of accounting experience, preferably in project, construction, or job cost accounting
• Experience with budgeting, forecasting, reconciliations, and financial reporting
• Understanding of accrual accounting and month-end close processes
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
• Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities
• Proficiency with Microsoft Excel and accounting/ERP systems
• Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment

Preferred Qualifications:

• Experience in construction, engineering, manufacturing, or project-based industries
• Knowledge of job costing, work-in-progress (WIP), and revenue recognition principles
• Experience reviewing contracts and supporting project teams with financial analysis

The pay range is the lowest to highest compensation we reasonably in good faith believe we would pay at posting for this role. We may ultimately pay more or less than this range. Employee pay is based on factors like relevant education, qualifications, certifications, experience, skills, seniority, location, performance, union contract and business needs. This range may be modified in the future.

Hourly employees are not eligible for paid time off unless required by law. Hourly employees on a Service Contract Act project are eligible for paid sick leave.
