Sales Representative - Corrugated Packaging

Job description: StaffQuest Placement Group is seeking an experienced Sales Representative with a strong background in corrugated packaging and manufacturing to expand business opportunities throughout the Ohio market.

The successful candidate will focus on acquiring new customers, expanding existing accounts, and delivering customized packaging solutions that support long-term customer partnerships and profitable sales growth.

Key Responsibilities Identify, pursue, and secure new business opportunities within the corrugated packaging market.

Develop and maintain productive relationships with manufacturers, distributors, and other packaging customers.

Utilize existing industry connections and an established customer network to accelerate sales growth.

Build strategic account plans that support customer retention, revenue expansion, and profitability.

Evaluate customer packaging requirements and recommend cost-effective, value-driven solutions.

Conduct regular customer visits, sales presentations, and business development meetings.

Monitor market conditions, competitor activities, and industry trends to identify sales opportunities.

Apply commercial and financial knowledge when evaluating pricing, customer profitability, and account growth.

Coordinate with internal manufacturing, customer service, and operational teams to meet customer expectations.

Maintain accurate sales activity, account information, and pipeline records.

Attend customer meetings, industry events, and trade shows as needed.

Travel approximately 50% or more of the time to support territory development and customer relationships.

Key Skills Required Corrugated Packaging Expertise: Knowledge of corrugated products, manufacturing processes, and packaging applications.

New Business Development: Proven ability to prospect, identify opportunities, and win new customer accounts.

Relationship Management: Ability to establish and maintain strong relationships with purchasing teams and key decision-makers.

Consultative Selling: Skill in evaluating customer requirements and presenting effective packaging solutions.

Negotiation and Financial Acumen: Ability to structure profitable sales opportunities and negotiate customer agreements.

Territory and Account Management: Strong planning, organizational, and pipeline management capabilities.

Work Schedule & Travel Full-time, salaried position.

Primarily customer-facing sales activities throughout the assigned Ohio territory.

Office space available in Delaware, Ohio.

Approximately 50% or more travel for customer visits, meetings, and industry events.

Qualifications: Required Qualifications High school diploma or equivalent; bachelor's degree in business, sales, marketing, or a related discipline, or equivalent relevant experience.

Professional sales experience, preferably within corrugated packaging or related manufacturing industries.

Strong working knowledge of corrugated packaging products, manufacturing processes, and customer requirements.

Current employment with a corrugated box manufacturer is strongly desired for the ideal candidate.

Established industry relationships and the ability to bring an existing book of business.

Demonstrated success prospecting, developing new accounts, and generating profitable sales.

Valid driver's license.

Ability and willingness to travel approximately 50% or more.

Strong communication, negotiation, customer relationship management, and organizational abilities.

Self-directed approach to territory management, sales planning, and achieving revenue targets.

Preferred Qualifications Two or more years of successful business-to-business sales experience.

Direct sales experience within the corrugated box manufacturing industry.

Experience acquiring new customers for a corrugated manufacturing facility.

Existing relationships with packaging buyers and decision-makers throughout Ohio.

Experience managing strategic accounts and developing long-term customer growth plans.

Familiarity with manufacturing operations, pricing structures, and packaging applications.

Proficiency with Microsoft Office and CRM platforms, particularly Salesforce.

Demonstrated ability to manage an active sales pipeline and independently develop a territory.
